Joey Pedroni began her professional career with Sonoma Valley Stables in Petaluma, where she had been riding since 2001. Her expertise with horses, ponies and their riders comes from her longtime passion for competitive riding. Joey advanced to become a Professional Trainer in August 2007 when she recognized the opportunity to open business at Edgemont Farms in Petaluma.
Prior to riding with SVS, Joey apprenticed with the well regarded trainer and dressage competitor Sidley Payne. Sidley is qualified as an international judge and has been judging Dressage for 30 years. She was also an alternate for the 1972 U.S. Olympic team and a member of the U.S. team for world championships in Denmark in 1974.
When Sidley moved to the East Coast, Joey trained and competed in 3-Day Eventing for a number of years with another well respected Sonoma County trainer Andrea Pfeiffer of Chocolate Horse Farm. It was with Andrea that Joey acquired the skills to combine the courage of Cross Country, the precision of Hunter-Jumper and the finesse of Dressage. This combination proved quite successful for Joey as evidenced by her repeated success at shows.
In her Amateur career as a Hunter/Jumper Joey was named Best Adult Rider at the Menlo Charity Horse Show and received numerous year end awards in Jumper and Equitation Divisions. Joey has been Norcal Equitation Classic Champion, in the Top Five in the Menlo Charity Gamblers choice twice, and made top placement in medal finals at Norcal, Hudson, CPHA, and Pickwick. As a professional rider and trainer, Joey has a passion for working with all levels of riders and horses, bringing them together to achieve peak performance.
Joey Pedroni Stables offers both private and group lessons. Instruction includes teaching students to think for themselves so that each rider can participate in fixing any problems that may arise. Joey emphasizes goal setting for her clients and assists in keeping everyone on track with frequent discussions about each rider’s objectives.
